Art is For Ordinary People | Founder & Creative Director

Founded Art is For Ordinary People in 2025, a community-driven creative initiative born from my master's thesis research on fostering human connection through intentional spatial and experiential design. The project was created to make art more accessible, approachable, and less intimidating by bringing people together through tactile, multisensory workshops that encourage presence, creativity, and meaningful interaction away from screens.

Each event features a local artist leading a hands-on experience, ranging from collage and vision boarding to crochet, sketching, poetry, and music jams. Through this initiative, I have translated my background in Spatial Experience Design into community building, designing environments that cultivate connection, curiosity, and creative expression.

A core part of the project has been exploring how different environments shape social interaction and creative engagement. Events have been hosted across a wide range of spaces, including cafés, retail stores, vinyl shops, galleries, community art spaces, parks, and private homes, allowing me to study how atmosphere, context, and spatial design influence the experience. This ongoing experimentation has become a valuable design exploration, revealing how the same workshop can foster entirely different forms of connection depending on its setting.

As Founder and Creative Director, I oversee all aspects of the initiative, including concept development, event design, creative direction, artist partnerships, venue sourcing, visual identity, marketing, social media strategy, and event production.
