In this project, we helped Nongshim, the korean noodle company, bring the tradition of enjoying ramen at the Han River in Seoul to the Korean Culture Center in New York.
In this experience, the visitors get to grab their favorite instant noodles from a replica of a Korean convenience store, cook it, and enjoy it with the scenery of the Harn River.

Design Intent
Nongshim is a global company that has advocated for representing Korean culture and introducing it to the world for more than 50 years.
The goal of this pop-up is to bring this unique experience to those who miss doing this popular activity in their hometown with their friends and families, as well as introduce it to those who have never experienced it and indulge them in the Korean culture.
Background
Eating Ramen by Han River is an experience unique to Seoul, South Korea because of the river's scenic beauty and the popularity of noodles in Korean culture. Koreans say instant noodles taste better if eaten in front of the river.
In Korean culture, noodles are thought to symbolize longevity, so they are often eaten at weddings and birthdays to wish for a long and healthy life. Instant noodles are even featured in many popular Korean TV and shows, increasing their popularity even more.
How it works
There are convenient stores near the Han river where people can purchase their favorite instant noodles.
Here, they are also given bowls and utensils to enjoy their ramen.
There are machines located both inside and outside of these stores
At the machines, people can add water and then cook the ramen for a few minutes.
Once prepared, they can head to the beautiful views of the river and enjoy their ramen.
